Science and Math Exploration

One science station this week is a paper helicopter investigation! Students create a paper helicopter and test the speed at which it falls using three different designs. We wrote a hypothesis, identified all of the variables, and conducted the investigation.
Students scaled fractions by multiplying whole numbers by fractions and mixed numbers. One group created different multiplication problems with one or two that did not fit in with the others. A partner had to identify the problems that did not match and explain why.

Team Bryant Highlights

This week's game plan:

Reading: Readers will continue reading their fantasy book club books and studying elements of fantasy texts. We will think about real world elements that can be applied to fantasy texts. We will also study archetypes we typically encounter in fantasy stories.

Writing: Writers did a great job with their second literary essays. I hope you take the opportunity to listen to their piece on Seesaw. This week students will decide on a new topic for their literary essay. We will take everything we have learned in this unit, and apply it to our final piece.

Math: Mathematicians will take their Chapter 9 Test on adding and subtracting fractions this Tuesday. Students should use previous assignments, their review in the textbook, and Quizlets on Google Classroom to study. Thursday, we will begin Chapter 10 on multiplying and dividing decimals.

Science: Scientists will take a break from science lessons this week. We will go over our Space Test and take the monthly Galileo Test.

Social Studies: Historians will complete and share their advertisements for the 13 colonies.
