Poem of the Week

My Rules
By: Shel Silverstein

If you want to marry me, here’s what you’ll have to do:
You must learn how to make a perfect chicken-dumpling stew.
And you must sew my holey socks,
And soothe my troubled mind,
And develop the knack for scratching my back,
And keep my shoes spotlessly shined.
And while I rest you must rake up the leaves,
And when it is hailing and snowing
You must shovel the walk...and be still when I talk,

And-hey-where are you going?

Science and Math Exploration

One science station this week is a paper helicopter investigation! Students create a paper helicopter and test the speed at which it falls using three different designs. We wrote a hypothesis, identified all of the variables, and conducted the investigation.
Students scaled fractions by multiplying whole numbers by fractions and mixed numbers. One group created different multiplication problems with one or two that did not fit in with the others. A partner had to identify the problems that did not match and explain why.
