Writing About Reading Spotlight

I love how this reader is sharing what he knows about characters based on their actions!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!

Team Bryant completed their first teamwork puzzle today! The class earns puzzle pieces by doing well in Block Classes, everyone turning in their homework, reaching our daily goal, and receiving compliments from other teachers/principals. We will vote on a celebration tomorrow-stay tuned!

Book Talk Tuesday

Book Club Celebration!

Last week, Team Bryant celebrated their book club books by choosing a way they would like to share. We had skits, commercials, and power point presentations. It was a great way to learn more about the reading they did during book clubs!

Informational Writing

Today we began our Informational Writing Unit. Students explored topics of the American Revolution that they would like to write their first informational piece on.

Peer Feedback

Today we shared our Reading Journals with each other and complimented the work we've done.

Writing Celebration

What a wonderful day of celebrating our hard work and effort in writing! Students went around the 5th grade classrooms reading our most recent published narratives.

I hope you take the time this weekend to enjoy your child's story. While the published piece is what they are proud to show others, I remind them it is their drafts that show their true growth as writers. Thank you, Team Bryant, for such amazing pieces.
